Step Counter Free operates on an offline-first data model:

• Step & Motion Sensors: The App accesses your device's built-in hardware pedometer, step counter, or motion sensors solely to calculate steps, active minutes, distance, and calorie metrics in real time.
• Local Isar Database: All daily logs, step history, hydration progress, streak records, and personal goals are stored exclusively inside your phone's local storage via Isar Database.
• No User Account Required: You can use 100% of the App's features without signing up, providing an email address, or creating a user account.

3. Device Permissions

To provide accurate 24/7 background tracking and user notifications, the App may request the following permissions:

• Physical Activity / Motion Recognition: Required on Android 10+ and iOS to detect steps walked.
• Foreground Service & Notifications: Used to display your live step progress on the status bar and lock screen without being killed by system battery savers.
• Post Notifications: Used to send daily goal alerts, water hydration reminders, and achievement milestone updates.

4. Third-Party Services & Advertising

Step Counter Free includes third-party services that may collect non-personally identifiable technical information to support app functionality and monetization:

• Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display compliant banner, interstitial, and rewarded advertisements. AdMob may use device advertising identifiers (such as AAID or IDFA) in accordance with Google's Advertising Policies.
• Firebase Analytics: We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated, non-identifiable performance diagnostics (e.g., app crash reports and feature usage counts) to improve app stability.

5. Health Data Integration

If you choose to enable optional Health Sync (e.g., Google Health Connect or Apple Health), the App reads step data strictly to synchronize daily totals. Health data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising purposes.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all fitness history is stored locally on your phone, you retain full control over your data:

• You can clear all stored history at any time via Settings > Reset All Local Data inside the App.
• Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all local databases and stored fitness logs from your device.

Step Counter Free does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take immediate corrective action.
